《世界哲学》是国家级哲学理论刊物，是哲学社会科学核心期刊之一，并被列为中文社会科学引文索引（CSSCI）来源期刊。该刊原名《哲学译丛》，创刊于1956年，是国内历史最悠久的外国哲学刊物。开始为季刊，主要译载苏联哲学论文，用《哲学研究》编辑部的名义编辑，由科学出版社出版，当时是我国唯一译载国外最新发表的哲学论文和哲学动态、旨在推动我国现代外国哲学研究的刊物。l957年改为双月刊，为内部刊物。1958～1959年底因故停刊。1961年根据学部会议精神创立《现代外国资产阶级哲学资料》（月刊）和《哲学资料》（不定期）。1962年7月，《哲学资料》和《现代外国资产阶级哲学资料》合并，改名为《哲学译丛》（月刊），内部发行，商务印书馆出版。1966年“文化大革命”前夕停刊。1978年复刊，改为公开发行，双月刊。l979～1994年，国内外公开发行。l995年为专刊（一期）。1996～2002年为季刊。2002年改刊为《世界哲学》至今，为双月刊，由哲学研究杂志社出版。发行量最高时达每期13000余册。
担任过主编或编辑部主任的有：刘及辰、杜任之、涂纪亮、王炳文、郭官义、李树柏、李河、鲁旭东。现任主编周晓亮，编辑部主任孟繁红。
《世界哲学》（双月刊）是专门介绍外国哲学以及中外哲学交流的刊物。它译载国外关于马克思主义哲学问题的重要论文；译介国外主要哲学流派的现状及争论的主要问题，以及有关逻辑学、伦理学、美学、哲学史、自然科学哲学问题等论著；报道外国哲学界动态，提供有价值的哲学资料。
该刊根据学科特点设有不同的栏目：康德哲学研究、维特根斯坦哲学研究、海德格尔与基督教神学、德国古典哲学、西班牙哲学、古希腊和罗马哲学、犹太哲学、阿拉伯哲学、印度哲学、日本哲学、俄罗斯哲学、中世纪哲学和逻辑学、法兰克福学派、法国后现代哲学、分析哲学、宗教哲学、西方政治哲学、伦理学与道德哲学、现象学研究、实用主义哲学、青年哲学家论坛、学术动态、会议报道等。
每个单月第2日出版。每册大16开本160面，单价16元，全年96元。国内外公开发行，全国各地邮局均可订阅。邮发代号：2-202，国外代号：Q1432。
World Philosophy (bimonthly) is a periodical which introduces foreign philosophy and the communications of Chinese and foreign philosophy. It includes the translations or these of Marxist philosophy oversea, of phenomena and issues of philosophical schools in mainstream, of the papers of logic, ethics, aesthetics, history of philosophy and philosophy of science, and reports of foreign philosophy in order to provide essential sources.
